CASA YALI GALLERY

UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS

AMY REVIER

Residency: February - April 2026

Open Studio: 27 March 2026 7:00 - 10:00 PM

Opening: 7 May 2026, 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Exhibition: 8 May – 4 July 2026

During her residency at CASA YALI, Amy Revier explores Venice as a site of convergence, conceiving weaving as a conceptual apparatus, producing works and garments that materialise as the residue of process. Through a sustained engagement with process and material structure, she reactivates textile histories in relation to place, allowing past and present to co-exist within form. The studio brings together materials, research, and fragments into a provisional archive, culminating in a solo exhibition in May 2026.

PAOLA PETROBELLI

Opening: 5 May 2026, 5:00 – 8:00 PM

Exhibition: 6 May – 20 September 2026

In collaboration with: Andreas Siegfried Contemporary, London

Paola Petrobelli’s first solo exhibition in Venice presents a new series of hand-blown glass works, including unconventional combinations of acrylic and glass. Petrobelli’s compositions explore form, colour, spatial relationships, and light, which acts as an active element shaping perception and allowing the works to exist as autonomous, self-sustaining forms. Her evolving, modular systems question authorship while inviting viewers to engage playfully with the works’ infinite potential.

INSENATURE
Geraldina Bassani Antivari

On the occasion of The Venice Glass Week 2025, Geraldina Bassani Antivari — an artist and designer working across glass, sculpture, embroidery, and marquetry — presents her first solo exhibition, featuring blown-glass sculptural forms alongside hand-embroidered works. For this project, we co-produced the piece Tessitura di Luce: a sculpture composed of glass beads and crystal, created through the reuse of Murano archival materials dating from the 1930s to the 2000s.

WEAVING BETWEEN LAND AND SEA

Deborah Needleman

Curated by Marina Marques

Residency: March – May 2025

Exhibition: 8 May – 8 August 2025

Deborah Needleman’s residency in Venice unfolded as an open laboratory dedicated to weaving as a practice connected to the city’s landscape, material culture, and collective memory. The residency included an investigation into basket forms represented throughout Venice, tracing their presence within local iconography and architectural details as a way to reflect on the history and possible futures of weaving traditions in the lagoon.

Developed in collaboration with organisations engaged in the care and study of lagoon ecology — including We are here Venice, Microclima, and The Tidal Garden — the project combined material research with environmental knowledge. The programme culminated in a public presentation and engaged the local community through a weaving workshop and a guided visit to a saltmarsh island.

MICROCOSMO

SURI AND SIMONE CRESTANI

Curated by Miriam Rejas del Pino
Exhibition coordinator: Marina Marques

14 November – 20 December 2024

This jewellery collection is a collaboration between Suri, jewellery artist, and Simone Crestani, glass artist. Inspired by Ernst Haeckel’s scientific illustrations, the suspended zoomorphic jewels explore the forms of animals and plants and are crafted using a technique that fuses glass directly to metal creating a seamless integration of materials. For the exhibition, a functioning glass fountain activates the display, allowing viewers to perceive both the surface of the water and the forms beneath, resulting in an immersive and contemplative encounter with the work.

Curated by Alexander Kirkeby and Marie-Rose Kahane

15 September – 15 October 2024

CEREMONY marks Alexander Kirkeby’s first solo exhibition, a project that earned the young Danish glassblower and designer a Special Mention at The Venice Glass Week 2024.
For the occasion, Kirkeby created a table installation featuring his transparent blown-glass pieces inspired by everyday objects, reinterpreted through Baroque-inspired forms.

FRIENDLY

Francis Upritchard, Karl Fritsch, Martino Gamper, Maddalena Kind, and Marie-Rose Kahane

Curated by the artists.

15 April – 15 July 2024

Marking the opening of CASA YALI’s exhibition space, this collective project moves beyond the idea of friendship, exploring points of convergence and tension between forms and materials, and reflecting on the relationship between form and function. Bringing together artists and designers from different international contexts, the exhibition establishes a dialogue between contemporary design and craft practices, highlighting diverse approaches to making and material research. Through this exchange, the project positions Venice as a meeting point for experimental practices, where shared sensibilities and distinct methodologies coexist and expand the possibilities of contemporary craft.
